Inspired by her vivid dreams, she slowly built a world of music, memories, and stories, some of which she once thought would remain unfinished or never be heard.The album was entirely self-funded, with Mona collaborating with musician friends and her niece to bring its music and visuals to life. She spent countless hours writing, composing, planning, and carefully choosing every detail, including the symbolic release dates of Too Much on 7.7, Ask Me Now on 9.9, and finally the album on 11.11.For Mona, an anxious mind that rarely stops thinking became both a challenge and a source of creativity. Even when the constant planning and overthinking left her mentally exhausted, she found ways to turn that restless energy into music and ideas.To finance the album, she spent Friday and Saturday nights livestreaming, saving the gifts and support she received from fans and putting them toward the project. Much of the work happened quietly, away from the public eye, as she preferred to let her plans unfold when the time was right.Mona & MONABehind the artist MONA is Mona, the person who works quietly to make everything possible.To her, they are two sides of the same person, each with a different role. MONA is a Filipino singer-songwriter, producer, and independent artist known for her nostalgic city pop sound. Before pursuing original music full-time, she built a global online following through her viral a cappella covers of anime themes and nostalgic English songs, amassing millions of followers across social media.She made her major-label debut in 2022 with Always Remember, followed by Tagahanga (2023) and her debut EP, Love, MONA (2024), featuring the title track Boy From The 90s.In 2025, MONA began her independent journey with the release of Leave Me Alone, marking the start of a new creative chapter.In 2026, she founded Midnight Groove Records, her independent record label, and embraced a multilingual city pop direction with the release of Too Much.Blending English, Filipino, Bisaya, and Japanese, MONA continues to write and produce music inspired by timeless melodies, heartfelt storytelling, and Japanese city pop, bringing her creative vision to audiences around the world.
